With the opening of its City of Industry Distribution Center, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank has significantly expanded its capacity to receive, store, and distribute food to the more than one million neighbors who seek food assistance each month.
Thanks to the generosity of more than 106,000 donors, partners, and sponsors, the purchase and renovation of the City of Industry facility represents a powerful community investment in food security across the County. Every contribution—large and small—helped transform the space into a modern, efficient hub designed to strengthen the Food Bank’s mission: mobilizing resources to fight hunger in Los Angeles County.
The following is an updated tour of the City of Industry Distribution Center. For reference, supporters may also view the first video tour of the facility here.
Because of the acquisition of the City of Industry facility, the Food Bank’s ability to handle and distribute food and essential products has been dramatically increased. With expanded warehouse space, improved logistics, and enhanced cold storage, the facility allows the Food Bank to receive larger shipments from farmers, growers, wholesalers, and distributors.
This expanded capacity means more nutritious food can reach communities from Long Beach to the Antelope Valley, through the Food Bank’s network of hundreds of partner agencies, as well as its direct distributions and programs.
Additionally, because it is conveniently located off the 605 and 60 freeways, Food Bank trucks and other delivery vehicles can be on their way to delivering essential food items in no time.
The value of the City of Industry facility became clear during the Greater Los Angeles Wildfires in January 2025. The Food Bank’s expanded storage and distribution capacity helped support emergency food relief efforts for families and communities affected by the disaster.
The facility also played an important role during the federal government shutdown in November 2025, when many households faced sudden financial uncertainty and disruptions to assistance programs. With the ability to receive and distribute larger quantities of food and essential items, the Food Bank responded quickly—helping partner agencies meet increased demand from neighbors seeking support.
Whether responding to natural disasters, economic disruptions, or the everyday challenges many families face, the new distribution center strengthens the Food Bank’s ability to deliver hope alongside food. As with any home, upgrades and maintenance are required to keep the facility running smoothly.
