At the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, partnerships are the backbone of serving communities across Los Angeles County. Few partnerships exemplify that commitment more clearly than the long-standing relationship with Albertsons Companies, including Albertsons, Vons, and Pavilions.
This winter, that partnership delivered an extraordinary impact through the Holiday Hunger Bag program. Thanks to the generosity of customers across 84 local stores, the Food Bank received 242 pallets of nutritious, nonperishable food, representing more than $560,000 raised through Hunger Bag purchases. These final deliveries arrived at a critical moment, helping ensure families, seniors, and individuals facing food insecurity continue to receive reliable support in the weeks ahead
“The Holiday Hunger Bag campaign is a huge influx of food at a critical time for us,” said Michael Flood, President and CEO of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, as the final pallets were delivered to the Food Bank’s City of Industry facility. “In addition, the ongoing partnership with Albertsons Companies helps us tremendously reach people struggling to feed themselves and their families throughout Los Angeles County.”
The Hunger Bag program is especially meaningful because it empowers everyday shoppers to be part of the solution. Each bag purchased represents a neighbor helping a neighbor, and collectively, those small acts add up to truckloads of food that move quickly from the Food Bank’s warehouse to hundreds of partner agencies across the county.
Albertsons Companies has supported the Food Bank for more than 30 years, providing not only food donations but also financial support and volunteer engagement. That sustained commitment reflects a shared belief in nourishing communities and reducing hunger where it is most needed.
“Our goal is to nourish our neighbors in our communities,” said Courtney Carranza of Albertsons, Vons, and Pavilions. “We are so proud to support the Los Angeles community—and grateful to our customers for making this donation possible.”
From the entire Food Bank team, and from the hundreds of thousands of people we serve each month: thank you to Albertsons Companies, store teams, and customers for standing with us once again. Your partnership makes a meaningful difference for many across Los Angeles County.
