At the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, partnerships are at the heart of our mission. One of those vital partnerships is with the RJC Foundation USA, an organization dedicated to building sustainable, inclusive solutions for communities facing economic and social challenges. Together, we’re working to help ensure that neighbors in Panorama City and across Los Angeles County have access to the nutritious food and resources they need to thrive.
The RJC Foundation is a secular, non-partisan nonprofit that develops programs rooted in sustainability, equity, and dignity. Guided by experts in agriculture, migration, and community needs, the Foundation creates opportunities for rural families to build sustainable and independent livelihoods.
With a strong focus on collaboration, RJC Foundation empowers communities through collective action—harnessing knowledge, talent, and diverse abilities to tackle pressing issues. While its projects began with agricultural development in the Mexican countryside, the organization has extended its reach to support vulnerable communities in LA County as well.
In LA County, the RJC Foundation partners with the Food Bank to bring food distributions directly into at-risk communities like Panorama City. Many of the neighbors served are older adults, families, and individuals facing difficult trade-offs between groceries, medical expenses, and housing costs.
Food and nutrition insecurity doesn’t exist in isolation—it is often tied to systemic issues such as limited income, rising housing costs, or barriers to employment and healthcare. By combining the Food Bank’s resources and food supply with the RJC Foundation’s deep community relationships and holistic approach, we can reach neighbors more effectively.
This partnership helps ensure that:
The partnership between the LA Regional Food Bank and the RJC Foundation is an inspiring example of what happens when organizations come together with a shared vision: to build healthier, stronger, and more resilient communities.
Every distribution, every smile, and every meal shared represents hope and progress. Together, we are working to ensure that no one in Los Angeles County goes hungry.
