Seventeenth Annual Food From the Bar Campaign Raises More Than $600,000 to Fight Child Hunger

Seventeenth Annual Food From the Bar Campaign Raises More Than $600,000 to Fight Child Hunger

For more than 15 years, Food from the Bar has united law firms, legal services organizations, and law schools and government legal offices and courts in a friendly competition to raise funds, donate food, and volunteer their time in support of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank’s mission to mobilize resources to fight hunger in our community.

In its 17th edition, the Food From the Bar campaign raised $602,078, a powerful demonstration of the legal community’s generosity, unity, and commitment to fighting child food insecurity across Los Angeles County. Since its inception in 2009, this campaign has raised more than $8 million.

“The legal community’s continued support through the Food from the Bar campaign is both remarkable and deeply appreciated,” said Michael Flood, President and CEO of the LA Regional Food Bank. “We are profoundly grateful to all participating firms, individuals, and volunteers whose generosity and commitment will help provide millions of meals to individuals and families facing food insecurity throughout Los Angeles County.”

While every contribution led to the campaign’s success, Munger, Tolles & Olson was the Overall Winner, and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison was the Per Capita Winner in this year’s edition.

“This initiative aligns with our firm’s longstanding commitment to community service and social responsibility,” said Erica Tooch, Litigation Associate from Munger, Tolles & Olson. “Supporting the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank in its mission to combat hunger is both a privilege and a responsibility we take seriously. We commend the Food Bank for its vital work and are proud to play a role in advancing its impact across Los Angeles County.”

Food is one of the most basic, everyday necessities, and yet, millions of individuals don’t have access to this crucial resource. With support from the community, such as Food From The Bar, the Food Bank, and our partner agencies are able to provide unbroken support to hundreds of thousands of children, seniors, families and individuals each month.
