At just 17 years old, Stephanie Dinh is already an inspiring force in her community. For the past four years, Stephanie has dedicated her time and energy as a volunteer at FISH of West Valley Community Resource Center, helping to ensure that no one in the community goes without food.
Stephanie first joined the FISH volunteer team during her freshman year of high school. From the very start, she rolled up her sleeves to help organize food kits for both housed and unhoused neighbors. Whether it’s sorting nutritious groceries or preparing essential items for distribution, Stephanie’s work has been a critical part of the Center’s mission to support those facing food insecurity.
For Stephanie, volunteering at the pantry has been a deeply rewarding experience. “Working here at FISH to address food insecurity has been fantastic—to see the relief on the faces of families who come here and don’t have to worry about how they’re going to feed their children or sustain their energy at work the next day.”
Stephanie’s message is clear: we all have a role to play in supporting vital organizations like FISH. “Thanking this initiative and the people behind it is what we need to do, because it’s this support that allows places like FISH to provide for the communities that are most vulnerable.”
Stephanie’s story reminds us that no one is too young—or too busy—to make a difference. If you’re inspired by Stephanie’s commitment, consider volunteering or making a donation to help FISH of West Valley continue its important work. Together, we can ensure that our neighbors have access to the food and resources they need.
