LA Regional Food Bank Celebrates Grand Opening of City of Industry Distribution Center

LA Regional Food Bank Celebrates Grand Opening of City of Industry Distribution Center

With the help of donors, community partners and hunger-relief advocates, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank held a grand opening of its City of Industry Distribution Center on June 22, 2024. Thanks to generous donors, the Food Bank acquired and renovated the space, significantly increasing the capacity of the Food Bank and its partner agency network throughout LA County.

At the grand opening event, guests were welcomed with food from top LA chefs, music and an invaluable look at the new Center. Attendees saw firsthand how their support positively impacts the mission and work of the Food Bank.

The new facility will help provide food and nutrition assistance to more neighbors than ever before. It will allow the Food Bank to continue to expand essential nutrition assistance programs that address food and nutrition insecurity across the County.

The space was optimized as a state-of-the-art food bank to fight hunger effectively. Renovations included the construction of the 40,000 sq. ft. of cooler and freezer space, pallet racking and production areas, a loading dock with 20 dock positions and LED lighting installation, with future solar panel installation.

The Food Bank’s City of Industry Distribution Center will substantially improve the Food Bank’s operations and increase capacity through agency partnerships and direct distributions.
