As the cost of food, housing, transportation, and other everyday essentials continues to increase, many students face difficult choices that can impact their health, academic performance, and future opportunities.
The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank’s Mobile Food Pantry program helps bridge that gap by bringing nutritious food directly to where it’s needed, including college campuses, allowing students to have access to the resources they need to succeed.
At Long Beach City College, students can access fresh fruits, vegetables, and other nutritious foods through Mobile Food Pantry distributions. These distributions help reduce food insecurity among students while supporting their overall well-being and academic success.
For Long Beach City College student Jaime, the Mobile Food Pantry has become an important source of support.
“We can get a few fruits, vegetables, and with bills and food being so expensive, it’s a really big help,” Jaime shared.
The Food Bank’s Mobile Food Pantry program is designed to meet people where they are. By delivering food directly to college campuses, the program removes barriers that may prevent students from accessing assistance, including transportation challenges, busy schedules, and limited resources.
The distributions provide nutritious foods, including fresh fruits and vegetables, helping students maintain healthier diets while managing the demands of college life. Access to nutritious food supports both physical health and academic performance, making it easier for students to stay focused in the classroom and work toward their educational goals.
Stories like Jaime’s highlight why access to food assistance matters. Every distribution helps provide nourishment, stability, and hope to students working hard to create brighter futures for themselves and their families. If you are in a position to do so, consider donating to the Food Bank and helping support programs like the Mobile Food Pantry.
