Donate Food to Los Angeles Regional Food Bank through Innovative Online Food Drive

Kellogg Company, Del Monte Foods, Hormel Foods Partner to Enable Food Donations to our Neighbors in Need on Amazon.com

LOS ANGELES, October 11, 2019 – Cereal and bars, canned protein, and canned fruits and vegetables are among the items most requested by Feeding America® member food banks, including the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. From now until Nov. 15, an online food drive on Amazon.com ‒ sponsored by Kellogg Company, Del Monte Foods, Inc. and Hormel Foods ‒ is available for people to make a donation to support the 1 in 5 people in our community that struggles with hunger.

People are encouraged to visit this special Amazon.com donation page, locate Los Angeles Regional Food Bank on the site and simply “click, ship and donate” foods directly to our food bank location. Feeding America recently identified the non-perishable foods most requested by food banks, which include the following:

  • Canned protein (chicken, beef, turkey, fish)
  • Canned or boxed meals (soups, stews, ravioli, mac & cheese)
  • Canned fruits & vegetables
  • Cereal (hot & cold) and bars
  • Dried beans
  • Peanut or other nut butters
  • Dry or canned pasta
  • Pasta sauce
  • Rice
  • Shelf-stable milk

“We are excited to be a part of this innovative approach to drive food donations to our Food Bank,” said Michael Flood, President and CEO of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. “LA County residents are extremely generous and are always willing to support people who are facing hunger in our community. We are confident we will soon see donations arriving daily, just in time for the holiday season.”

“We’re especially excited about our World Food Day 2019 efforts,” said Kris Bahner, Senior Vice President, Kellogg Global Corporate Affairs. “This work is all part of our Kellogg’s Better Days global purpose platform, where we’re helping to end hunger by addressing the interconnected issues of food security, climate resiliency and well-being for people, communities and the planet. Our goal is to create Better Days for 3 billion people by the end of 2030.”
