Because of the extraordinary demand for food created by the pandemic, we are often asked by supporters what more they can do to help us feed our neighbors. Many have elected to raise money from their friends, peers, family and co-workers for the Food Bank by hosting a Team #WeFeedLA fundraiser.
Cathy Perlmutter is one such hero. She is doubling her impact in our LA community by helping individuals keep safe and by raising funds to feed our hungry neighbors in need.
“I’m a longtime quilter, but like so many quilters, I’ve put aside quilting for now to make masks for friends, family and people who are at highest risk. I am asking friends and family who can afford to pay for a mask – instead of sending the money to me – to instead donate to your food bank.” When we went to press, she had collected $1,446, which helps the Food Bank provide 5,784 meals.
“We are all desperately concerned about the impact of the COVID virus on the most economically-challenged people… Thank you for the lifesaving work you are doing.”
