Client Story – Rosa | You are helping my family eat healthy while our budget is tight

You are helping my family eat healthy while our budget is tight.

Sometimes we run out of food, and with the food we receive from the Food Bank, my daughters can have something in their tummies before going to school—like milk, cereal and fruit. The food here helps us a lot.

I’m Rosa, and my daughters are 12 and 8 years old. I try to cook the healthiest foods I can for my family. So it’s really helpful that the Food Bank provides us with food so I can cook it on my own

Recently, we’ve taken home carrots and apples, and I’ve been trying to cook different recipes with them. We also got pancake mix, and my daughters are very happy when we have the ingredients for pancakes.

My husband is a gardener and I clean houses. Sometimes, the work is good, but if people are struggling with money, they cut the cost of paying for a housekeeper or gardener. Right now, it’s hard because we’re looking for jobs, but they are difficult to find.

My kids also come to the Boys and Girls Club and receive meals there with food provided from the Food Bank. When they eat there, I don’t have to worry as much and I can work a little bit more.

To the donors, I want to thank you, because it helps a lot. You might think it’s a small thing, but it’s not. Thank you and please keep doing it because it really helps.
