NorthStar Moving Raises Over $47,000 for the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank

The Los Angeles-based moving company raises enough for nearly 190,000 meals

NorthStar Moving – a Los Angeles-based moving company – has raised over $47,000 for the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. In collaboration with Compass Real Estate and Groundwork Coffee, their 8th annual “Let’s Send Hunger Packing” campaign will help the Food Bank meet the heightened needs of those impacted by the pandemic as well as continuing to assist those who typically need our help.

“The LA Regional Food Bank has truly risen to meet the incredible need in our community,” said NorthStar Moving Co-Founder & Chief of Organized Living Laura McHolm. “Their parking lot looks like a busy day at LAX. When you see how enormous the need is and what the Food Bank is doing on a daily basis, the least we can all do is to donate funds so they can keep food on LA families’ tables. I am so impressed with how people are stepping up to meet the challenge; we really are stronger together. Together, we will send hunger packing.”

Food distribution from the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank’s two distribution centers has increased by 125% compared to this time last year. As of October 2020, the Food Bank has provided over 95 million meals since the pandemic broke out in March of 2020. NorthStar Moving’s financial support will provide up to 188,184 meals for those in the local Los Angeles community who are most in need, and in eight years, the Let’s Send Hunger Packing Food Drive has raised a total of over 320,000 meals.

“The economic fallout is impacting residents in LA County tremendously, and this donation from NorthStar Moving will help the LA Regional Food Bank continue the support to the communities we serve,” said Michael Flood, the Food Bank’s President and CEO. “We are thankful for NorthStar Moving for helping the Food Bank during this important time.”
