Los Angeles Clippers Join the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank to Provide Food Assistance

The Los Angeles Clippers team members, staff, and volunteers demonstrated an incredible commitment to fighting hunger again this year. This collaboration has become an annual tradition, culminating in two impactful initiatives: the annual Feed the Community event at the Kia Forum in Inglewood and a dedicated volunteer day at the Food Bank’s new City of Industry distribution center.

The Feed the Community event at the Kia Forum brought together Clippers players and local families, creating an environment of unity and generosity. During the event, meals were made available to nearly 1,000 families facing food insecurity. Players like Amir Coffey and Terance Mann took part, helping bridge the gap between the team and the community. Reflecting on the experience, Coffey said, “It’s huge. Anytime an organization does something like this, it’s awesome. It means a lot to give back to the community we’re part of.”

Terance Mann echoed these sentiments, highlighting the importance of these events: “It’s good to be able to give back. We’ve been here a long time, and being out here with our teammates and families just makes it more special.”

Clippers players were also in attendance, as were many staff members from the Clippers organization. Candace Rice, a Clippers staff member, described the experience: “It warms my heart to put a smile on people’s faces by giving them food they need for their families. This whole day filled my heart and spirit, and I’ll definitely be back to help again.”

The Kia Forum’s proximity to the new Intuit Dome, which serves as the Clippers’ new home, emphasizes the organization’s deep ties to the Inglewood community. This event demonstrated the Clippers’ commitment to giving back to the very neighborhoods they call home.

Beyond the Feed the Community event, the Clippers’ staff extended their support. On the Friday before the event, staff members volunteered at the Food Bank’s City of Industry warehouse, packaging thousands of food kits for families and individuals.

Michael Flood, President and CEO of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, emphasized the importance of such partnerships. “The Clippers have shown incredible dedication to our mission,” said President and CEO of the LA Regional Food Bank, Michael Flood. “Their involvement, both at the Feed the Community event and at our warehouse, exemplifies the spirit of shared responsibility that’s crucial to fighting hunger in Los Angeles County.”

The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank remains committed to serving neighbors and appreciates the partnership of community-focused organizations like the Clippers. Collaborations like these highlight the power of working together to address food insecurity and build stronger communities.

Thank you to the Los Angeles Clippers for supporting our mission to alleviate hunger and create a brighter future for Los Angeles County. Together, we can make a lasting impact—one meal at a time.
