The Grace Resources Food Pantry Helps Its Neighbors Such as Kerry

The Grace Resources Food Pantry Helps Its Neighbors Such as Kerry

In Lancaster, CA, the need for food assistance continues to rise as more individuals and families struggle with the high cost of living, limited job opportunities, and unpredictable circumstances. For many in the Antelope Valley, Grace Resources has become a trusted place of hope and community.

Founded in April 1991 by the Antelope Valley Christian Ministerial Association (AVCMA), Grace Resources was established with a mission to offer compassionate support to individuals experiencing poverty. Over the years, the organization has refocused its ministry on providing groceries, hot meals, and spiritual support.

Today, Grace Resources serves as a lifeline for thousands of neighbors. In the past year alone, the organization helped more than 200,000 people, a number that continues to grow. The organization relies on strong partnerships with local churches, businesses, community groups, and individuals, as well as support from the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, to ensure that nutritious food and basic necessities reach those who need them most.

Helping Our Neighbors

Among those who turn to Grace Resources for support is Kerry, a Lancaster resident who currently experiences homelessness. Kerry visits the organization’s food distributions in partnership with the Food Bank.

For Kerry, the services offered by Grace Resources go beyond just receiving food, they provide dignity and care. He says that Grace Resources really uplifts its community not just with food, but with toiletries and other essentials.

Kerry expresses deep gratitude for the volunteers, donors, and partners who make these distributions possible. Their efforts, he says, remind him that compassion and generosity are still very much alive in the community.

Meeting Growing Needs in the Antelope Valley

The Antelope Valley region, including Lancaster, faces unique challenges such as geographic isolation, transportation barriers, and limited access to affordable groceries. For households already living paycheck to paycheck, even a small disruption such as a job loss or medical bill can cause considerable financial strain.

Grace Resources and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank remain committed to meeting this need. Together, we help ensure that nutritious food and essential items reach neighbors like Kerry and countless others who turn to these resources.

As Kerry’s story illustrates, food assistance is more than just a meal, it’s a message of hope, compassion, and community. Please join in on supporting the Food Bank and its partners such as Grace Resources.
