Chick-fil-A’s Collaboration with LA Regional Food Bank to Alleviate Hunger

Chick-fil-A’s Collaboration with LA Regional Food Bank to Alleviate Hunger

The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank has received a grant of $125,000 from Chick-fil-A, Inc., a company whose notable commitment to giving back to the community persists. This grant holds the potential to make a profound impact on the lives of children and families in need, providing them with essential food and nutrition resources.

As we approach the holiday season, our thoughts turn to the joy of gathering with loved ones over meals. However, it is crucial to remember that, particularly during this time, no one should go hungry.

This grant comes when 30% of LA County residents are grappling with food insecurity, marking a six-percentage-point increase from 2022, reports USC Dornsife.

The LA Regional Food Bank and our partner agency network have witnessed growth in the demand for food assistance, serving 9% more people on average in recent months compared to late 2022 and early 2023. We currently reach an average of 870,000 people monthly. The impacts of inflation are being felt by many, with overall inflation for September 2023 compared to 2022 at 3.7%. This increase has resulted in a substantial increase in the cost of living, affecting the budgets of families and individuals in our community. The need for food assistance continues to be critical.

“In the face of growing food insecurity and the challenges our community faces, Chick-fil-A’s partnership and grant provide invaluable support. They have a steadfast commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of our food-insecure neighbors. As we partner with Chick-fil-A, we can create a more nourished and prosperous future for all, providing essential food and nutrition resources to those in need. We are grateful for their dedication to our community’s well-being,” said Michael Flood, President and CEO of the LA Regional Food Bank.

As the LA Regional Food Bank and our partners continue to combat food insecurity and provide essential nutrition resources to children and families in our community, we are thankful for partners like Chick-fil-A who share our drive to help uplift those in need. Together, with the support of organizations like Chick-fil-A, we can create a more nourished and prosperous future for all.
