Chef Steve Samson on Taste of the Rams and Giving Back

Chef Steve Samson on Taste of the Rams and Giving Back

For Chef Samson, Food and Family Have Always Been Connected

Chef Steve Sampson of Rossoblu and Superfine Pizza has participated in Taste of the Rams since 2016. On November 18, 2019, he will participate once again in the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank’s Annual Taste of the Rams Event, helping to raise valuable funds and awareness to fight hunger in LA County.

A Love of Los Angeles, Bologna and Family

Samson grew up in LA but spent most summers in Bologna, Italy where he spent hours in the kitchen with his mother and grandmother and a lot of time around the table enjoying home-prepared meals with loved ones. These memories make Chef Samson smile as he recounts what these moments meant to him. “I remember meal time being synonymous with family time,” he says.

Just as Chef Samson enjoyed learning how to cook and feed his family, he now enjoys supporting the Food Bank in feeding our many neighbors in need. He volunteers by donating his time and talents for events like Taste of the Rams, sharing his passion with an even larger family and community, LA County. The issue of hunger resonates with Samson as a father of seven-year-old-twins. “The thought of kids like them not having food is heartbreaking,” he says. “Having access to nutritious food shouldn’t be a privilege; it should be everyone’s right.”

Taste of the Rams

The Food Bank is fortunate to be part of a community of talented and generous chefs who consistently go above and beyond to raise funds for and awareness of the issue of hunger in Los Angeles County. Taste of the Rams, an event that benefits the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, is just one example of top LA chefs demonstrating their commitment to hunger relief.

“The great thing about the Food Bank is you really know how each dollar is spent and each dollar provides so much nutritious food for people who need it,” Samson says.

Food Brings People Together

When people make hunger relief a priority and take time out of their busy schedule to make a difference for our neighbors in need, it does not go unnoticed. For the 2 million people in our community who struggle with hunger, every contribution helps. We look forward to coming together with our community in November to enjoy good company, food and taking a stand against hunger.

“Taste of the Rams is a really great event, and it makes me really proud to be from LA,” Samson says. “If you’re a food fan and a Rams fan it’s a perfect event.”

Do Not Miss This

Please join us on Monday, November 18, 2019, to mingle with our very own Los Angeles Rams, eat food from some of LA’s top chefs and raise money to fight hunger.
