The 14th Annual Feed SoCal Food Drive Raises More Than $55,000

The 14th Annual Feed SoCal Food Drive Raises More Than $55,000

The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank teamed up with ABC7, Stater Bros. Markets, and Southern California Food Banks to host this year’s edition.

ABC7 and Stater Bros. Markets teamed up with community partners to raise more than $55,000 for the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. This support comes at an invaluable time as a reported 25% of LA County residents face food and nutrition insecurity, according to USC Dornsife

Inflation’s cumulative effect in recent years has created hardship for people in our community. Over 52 million pounds of food and product have been distributed since January 7, 2025, an increase of 22% compared to the previous year. The Greater Los Angeles Wildfires played a key role in the increase, as our neighbors continue seeking food assistance through the recovery phase.

The campaign also comes at a time when children who receive food resources during the school year may go without the needed nutrition.

Throughout June, ABC7 and community partners set up collection days, during which community members were encouraged to drop off shelf-stable food items or make financial contributions during check-out at Stater Bros. Market.

The Food Bank thanks all of our partners and everyone involved for helping make this year’s Feed SoCal a success.
