Food From the Bar

LA’s legal community helps fight hunger and give hope!

OUR GOAL:

100 LAW FIRMS

RAISE $500,000

98.5% | $492,455 Raised

Food From The Bar is an annual, month-long fundraising and volunteering effort, held every May. The campaign is a friendly competition including legal firms, law schools and legal services organizations, to see who could raise the most funds, acquire the most food, and work the most volunteer hours for the Food Bank in an effort to feed the children of Los Angeles County who may go hungry in the summer months.

Since the campaign began in Los Angeles in 2009, it has raised over $3.6 million.

This is the 10th year of the campaign in Los Angeles and the goal this year is to get 100 law firms and legal service organizations to participate and raise over $500,000 to provided more than 2 million meals to the 1 in 4 children in our community that are food insecure.

Step 1

Decide how your firm or organization
wants to participate.

Fundraise

Raise valuable funds for the Food Bank. Because of donated food and the work volunteers the food bank is able to provide 4 meals for every dollar raised. Set up a virtual food drive or fundraise at your firm with some of these ideas.

Volunteer

Have your organization come into volunteer any day during May by signing up at lafoodbank.org/volunteer or call Ana Martinez at (323) 234-3030 ext. 144 or email at amartinez@lafoodbank.org to register for the Friends and Family Volunteer Days May 5 or May 19.

Food Drive

Collect food through a physical food drive. Contact Araceli Martinez (323) 234-3030, ext. 194 or aracelim@lafoodbank.org to get food drive boxes.

Step 2

Register to participate

Step 3

Organize your team and
have fun!

The Official Kick Off event is the Munger Games hosted by Munger Tolles. It is a trivia contest with teams of 4 competing for extra points to count toward your teams totals. Registration is $100 and each organization can have as many teams as they want.
