LA’s legal community helps fight hunger and give hope! This annual, month-long fundraising and volunteering effort is a friendly competition including legal firms, law schools and legal services organizations, to feed the children of Los Angeles County who may go hungry in the summer months.

Food From The Bar is an annual, month-long fundraising and volunteering effort, held every May. The campaign is a friendly competition including legal firms, law schools and legal services organizations, to see who can raise the most funds, acquire the most food, and work the most volunteer hours for the Food Bank in an effort to feed the children of Los Angeles County who may go hungry in the summer months. Because of the current crisis Food From The Bar has transitioned to a virtual fundraising campaign. All other aspects of the campaign have been postponed indefinitely. Due to the devastating impact of the Coronavirus this year the campaign will support the Food Bank to meet the increased demand for food assistance.
Since the campaign began in Los Angeles in 2009, it has raised more than $4 million.
Last year legal firms and legal service organizations helped the Food Bank raise more than $500,000, which provided more than 2 million meals to the 1 in 4 children in our community that are food insecure.
