The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is teaming up with ABC7 and ESPN LA 710 and other Southern California food banks to host the 9th Annual Feed SoCal Food Drive.

The campaign runs from June 26th to September 11th and will benefit the following food banks in Southern California: Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, Feeding America Riverside/San Bernardino and FOOD Share, Ventura County’s Food Bank.

From the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, more people are experiencing food insecurity at an alarming rate due to the cuts in salaries and jobs. In response to the COVID-19 crisis, our Southern California regional food banks have increased food distribution by more than 70%, reaching over 200,000 people every week.

Last year, with the support of sponsors, donors, and ABC7 viewers, the Feed SoCal campaign received more than 6.5 million pounds of food in donations, resulting in more than 5.5 million meals for those in need. Our goal this year is to match or beat last year’s numbers.

Starting on Friday, June 26, 2020, ABC7 with our regional food bank partners, will launch Feed SoCal Friday. Every Friday until September 11, 2020, during the 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM newscast, ABC7 will be sharing stories of the critical need for food during this COVID-19 crisis.

Throughout the campaign, you can support Feed SoCal in the following ways:

  • You can text FEEDSC to 41111
  • You can visit ABC7.com to donate to the food bank of your choice.
