The fight against food insecurity is an ongoing battle in Los Angeles County. LA County is home to more food-insecure children than any other county in the United States. The economic impact caused by the COVID-19 pandemic exasperated the already vulnerable in our community.

To meet the ever-increasing demand for our services, the Food Bank acquired a 256,000 sq.ft. building in the City of Industry in August 2020. This space allows us to expand programs and increase operational efficiency and storage capacity. The expansion was crucial even before the COVID-19 pandemic, and is even more critical now. The LA Regional Food Bank launched Building Hope: The Campaign for a Brighter Future to raise $165 million by 2022.

Contributions to the Campaign will provide the support necessary to increase the volume of food supplied, further reduce food waste, and increase the number of people that we reach each month in LA County.

Directions:

The Food Bank’s new distribution center is located at:
2300 Pellissier Pl City of Industry, CA 90601 – (view on Google Maps).

The health and safety of everyone who attends our Open House is our top priority. Please know that we continue to monitor the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and we are taking necessary precautions.

  • All guests will be given a no-touch temp check upon arrival. Guests with a temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) or above (the recommended threshold from the CDC) will be asked to leave and monitor their symptoms, seeking professional medical assistance if necessary.
  • If you fall under the CDC’s high-risk category due to your age or because of underlying medical conditions, we strongly recommend that you stay at home and not volunteer at this time.
  • The Food Bank will implement social distancing measures. Food Bank staff will ensure appropriate distance is maintained between each person during check-in and during the event.
  • Hand sanitizer pumps will be available.

To register, please contact Amy Hasquet at ahasquet@lafoodbank.org or 323.234.3030 x140.
