What are Cryptocurrency Donations?
A cryptocurrency is a digital currency, an alternative form of payment created using encryption algorithms. Unlike physical money, cryptocurrency does not exist in physical form and is not issued or requires a central authority.
With cryptocurrency becoming more popular through the years, and more cryptocurrencies in the marketplace, the number of cryptocurrency holders has also increased, with many wishing to donate a portion of their stakes to nonprofit organizations, like the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.
Examples of Crypto and NFT Donations
Recently, local art collector, ‘Artie Handz,’ created digital artwork, HOWNOWCOW. This collection was sold, with over $20,000 donated to the Food Bank through The Giving Block, the equivalent of more than 82,000 meals.

Donating Cryptocurrency to the LA Regional Food Bank
The Food Bank has been accepting Cryptocurrency donations for a few years now but this process has been made easier thanks to The Giving Block.
