Closing the Hunger GAAP 2013

In its inaugural year, the Closing the Hunger GAAP Campaign featured a year-long effort among LA County's accounting professionals, in which participants contributed financially, donated food and volunteered.

Closing the Hunger GAAP made a great impact. In the first part of the year more than 750 accounting professionals joined us at our warehouse to volunteer. In June, the Food Drive campaign resulted in 7,681 pounds of donated food which provided 9,271 meals for families in need in Los Angeles.

We would like to also congratulate our first campaign winners and we look forward to sharing the final results at the conclusion of the year-long effort.

These efforts will help fund the Food Bank's programs targeting children, seniors, families and others needing food assistance which require ongoing support in order to reach as many people as possible.  Closing the Hunger GAAP will help provide additional funds so the Food Bank can ensure families and children are well nourished.
