Employee Giving

Employee giving takes many forms at the Foodbank.

Matching Gift Program

Feel twice as good as you double your gift through your employer’s Matching Gift program.  Thousands of companies, large and small, match their employees’ charitable contributions – sometimes for more than double your gift amount!  Make your hard earned dollars go two times as far with a matching gift to the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank.

Here’s how to take part:
  1. Contact your employer’s Human Resources office to determine if your company matches employee donations.  If your company does not currently match employee donations, you might suggest they consider doing so.
  2. Review the program guidelines to ensure that the Foodbank is eligible to receive matching gifts.
  3. Complete the donor section of the form and submit it, along with your check or credit card authorization to:
Los Angeles Regional Foodbank
We will verify that your gift has been received and return the form to your employer.  Your employer then sends the matching gift directly to the Foodbank.  It’s that easy to make double the difference!

Payroll Giving

Donating directly from your paycheck is a great way to support the fight against hunger all year round.  Providing the Foodbank with a reliable source of funding allows us to better plan our future services more effectively and with confidence.  Contact your Human Resources Department today for more information on payroll giving.

Workplace Campaigns

The following programs are a great way for employees to work together and provide food for our needy community members.  These programs often develop unity, create team building, and generate a fun atmosphere at the workplace!

Food Drive: Employees participate by donating food products.  We provide you with collection barrels and then pick them up when they’re full or when the Food Drive is over.  Fun incentives like your company donating a $1 for each pound of food collected or raffling off prizes can really increase participation and help spread awareness.  For more information, click here.

Virtual Food Drive:  If physically collecting food products doesn’t seem feasible, then you may want to go Virtual!  “Collect Food” from the convenience of your computer!  Your company can set up its own Virtual Food Drive webpage and even promote healthy competition between departments.  For more information, click here.

Tribute Giving: Let your gift mean something.  Make a donation in honor of an employees’ birthday, anniversary, or retirement.  You can also honor a client or boss with a gift to the Foodbank in their name.  For more information, click here.

During the holidays, send a Holiday Tribute Card to co-workers, bosses, and clients, offering Seasons Greetings to those you work with as you support the efforts of the Foodbank. For more information, click here.

Volunteerism

Foodbank volunteers are an incredible help in our efforts to fight hunger.  Many of our volunteers come from the business sector, looking to support community projects while promoting corporate teambuilding. For more information, click here.
