What is Make A Difference Day?
Make A Difference Day is the most
encompassing national day of helping others -- a celebration of
neighbors helping neighbors. Everyone can participate. Created by USA
WEEKEND Magazine, Make A Difference Day is an annual event that takes
place on the fourth Saturday of every October. The next event is
Saturday, October 25, 2008.
You can help. Host a food drive in your community. Kid-friendly foods most needed
include peanut butter and jelly, granola bars, cereal, canned meals, and
gelatin and pudding cups. In some areas,
food banks are working with local USA WEEKEND carrier newspapers to rally
volunteers and increase donations.
